IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics 2018

Nominations Due: January 31, 2018

The IUPAP Plasma Physics C16 Young Scientist Prize recognizes exceptional achievement in the study of plasma physics by scientists at a relatively early stage of their career. The recipient must be no more than eight years post PhD (excluding career interruptions) by the deadline of the competition, and is expected to have displayed significant achievement and exceptional promise for future achievement in the area of plasma physics.

The Prize will consist of 1,000 Euro and a Medal and Certificate. The Prize will be presented at the 19th International Congress on Plasma Physics (ICPP-2018), which will be held in Vancouver, Canada during June 4 – 8, 2018.

Nominations should include:

  • reasons for nomination and a short citation
  • CV including all publications with citation number for journal papers
  • 3 representative papers
  • 3 – 5 reference letters

and combined into one single consolidated pdf file which should be sent as an email attachment to Prof. Dr. Minh Quang Tran at minhquang.tran@epfl.ch, Chair of IUPAP C16, Swiss Plasma Center, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Station 13, 1015 Lausanne, Suisse. The deadline for receipt of nominations is January 31, 2018. Self nominations will not be considered.
